25 | On March 26th, 2024, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Nguyen met with Licensee, Graciela Alvarez, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. The purpose of the unannounced annual inspection was explained. LPA was granted for entry into the facility by licensee. There were three (3) children present at the time of inspection. Licensee's operating hours are Saturday through Sunday from 7:00 AM. to 7:00 PM. Meals—breakfast, AM snack, lunch, PM snack, and dinner—were provided to daycare children. Filtered water from the dispenser on the refrigerator was provided for drinking water. LPA verified licensee’s annual license fees are current.
All adults subject to criminal background review have obtained criminal record clearance. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas in the home include the attached back house, the backyard, the side yards on both sides of the house, the master bedroom, and the son's upstairs bedroom. The entire upstairs is inaccessible by a closed and locked door. The backyard is inaccessible by metal fences that disable access to the side yards as well. Outdoor play space is in the front yard, and the area is fenced. LPA observed the required postings and a working phone. 2A10BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional.
