On 3/7/23, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Stacey Williams and Alecia Sifuentes met with Director, Poonam Sharma for the purpose of an unannounced 1-Year required inspection. LPAs observed (35) thirty five children supervised by 6 staff Facility operates M-F from 7:00AM to 6:30 PM. Criminal record clearances were verified.

LPAs conducted a health and safety inspection in all areas accessible to children. LPAs observed required Licensing postings by the main entrance of the facility. There are no poisons on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Per facility representative there are no firearms on the premises and no bodies of water were observed. Facility has functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers in each classroom. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Program provides morning and afternoon snacks. Children bring their own lunches. Menus and daily activity schedule were posted. Outdoor play area is free from dangerous conditions and play equipment is safe and free from loose or sharp parts. Artificial turf is underneath the playground equipment to absorb falls. Water is readily available indoor and outdoor. Children bring water bottles that are refilled by using water fountains in each classroom. Facility uses electronic signing in/out.

Ten children files were reviewed. Each child's file contained the required documentation by regulation. Seven staff files were reviewed. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. CPR expiration for the Director is 3/2024. Fire drills are conducted monthly.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

There were no Title 22 deficiencies observed during this inspection.

LPAs reviewed report with Director, Poonam Sharma and provided copies of the report along with Appeal Rights. A notice of site visit was provided and posted by LPAs and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
