On 06/28/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Elvira Sierra met with Director, Ivy Stinson for unannounced Annual/Required Inspection. Present during the visit were two two staff caring for four children. Facility meets teacher/child ratio today. Facility operates one classroom from M-F summer hours are 07:00am to 06:00pm and during school hours are M-F from 12:30pm to 06:00pm.
Facility was inspected in all areas accessible to children for Health and Safety hazards. Classroom has age-appropriate toys and equipment that are in good repair. Cubbies are located inside the classroom. The facility has age-appropriate furniture and equipment. Classroom has one toilet, and one sinks available for children. Bathroom has a door to allow individual privacy. Restrooms are maintained clean, in good repair and with adequate supplies. Staff use a separate restroom. Per Director there are no Firearms/ weapons in the facility or bodies of water. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons are stored inaccessible to children. Director was advised that storage areas for poisons shall be locked. Facility does not have any children that required medication at this time. The isolation area for an ill child is in the front desk area. Facility has more than one functioning carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. . Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in good condition and is free of hazards. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. Playground equipment is in good repair and age appropriate. Drinking water is readily available both indoors by pitcher and cups and outdoor by water fountains. The center provides breakfast, lunch and snack to children and are prepared at the facility kitchen. Menus are posted, updated and available for public view. Last Emergency Drill was conducted on 05/30/23 and is properly logged.
Facility meets all Posting requirements; (License, parents rights, personal rights, menu, Emergency Disaster & Earthquake Preparedness Plan, Child Car Seat Law) were reviewed today. Two Staff and four children files were review and Staff files records contain a health screening report and children files are complete including Emergency contact information and medical assessment. Sign in/out sheets were reviewed. Facility representative was advised that the person who signs the child in/out shall use their full legal signature and shall record the time of day.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. CCC COMPLETED TESTING AND NO LEAD EXCEEDANCES: Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.

Facility Representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Ivy Stinson.
