Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christopher Jackson met with Licensee, Aida Lomeli for the purpose of an announced second pre-licensing inspection. Licensee requests an infant license to serve 6 infant children from birth to two years of age. The program will operate Monday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.

During the initial pre-licensing inspection on 6/24/2021, AS did not observe a crib area for the infant children. Licensee has installed a four-foot-high partition to physically separate the crib area from the indoor activity space. AS observed three cribs in the napping area. Licensee acknowledges there will be a maximum of three infants under 12 months old, due to available cribs. AS observed that only half of the napping area is partitioned off and the Licensee has used the diaper changing table to enclose the remainder space. AS informed the Licensee that the changing table cannot be used as a partition due to the height and the Licensee will need to install another section.

AS measured the classroom. The total classroom space contains a total of 162.187875 square feet, which will only accommodate 4 infant children. AS observed a changing table within arm's reach of a sink. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).

This facility evaluation report was reviewed and discussed with Licensee. Licensee was encouraged to the visit the Department's website at WWW.CDSS.CA.GOV for information regarding child care updates, forms, regulations and legislation pertaining to child care centers.

CONDITIONS REQUIRING CORRECTION PRIOR TO ISSUING A LICENSE:
1. Proof of completion of crib area partitions.
2. Updated Granted Fire Safety Inspection (STD850).
3. Final file review by Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Justin Denton.
