25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Erwin Tjhia met with Licensee, Saranyadevi Dhandapani for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee has applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. There was 1 child present at the time of inspection. Fire clearance was granted by Lathrop-Menteca Fire Department on 08/14/2024.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The licensee provided proof of control of property.
A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and out. The two stories home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The off-limits area in the home are the entire upstairs, garage, side yard, kitchen, and storage room by the stairs. Outdoor play area was toured. There are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA toured the bedrooms and verified toxic and hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. Off-limits areas will remain inaccessible to children by doorknob covers, baby gates, and baby latches.
Functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed in the living room. LPA observed cleaners stored in laundry on a shelf inaccessible to children in care. There is no fireplace in the home. 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed by the main door and first aid kit were observed in the classroom by the main entrance. Applicant stated there are no weapons in the home.
