25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erwin Tjhia met with Applicant, Ali Mahtab for the purpose of a prelicensing evaluation for large family child care home. Fire clearance was granted by Lathrop-Menteca Fire Department on 01/05/2024. Applicant's husband was also present during the inspection. Applicant's tentative hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and out. The one story home has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The off-limits areas are entire upstairs, living room, kitchen, all bedrooms, play room on the back, garages, and swimming pool area. LPA toured the facility and verified toxic and hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. Off-limits areas will remain inaccessible to children by doorknob covers, baby latches, gate/fence, and supervision. Outdoor play area was toured. Functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed at the facility. 2A10BC fire extinguisher was verified and first aid kit was observed in the classroom. Home has an in ground pool located in the backyard. LPA inspected the pool fencing and observed a mesh pool fence. The mesh fencing is attached to the backyard's existing wood fencing. LPA did measurements around the fencing. The base of the fence to the top of the fence measured 5 feet 1 inch. The fencing does not obstruct the view of the pool. The gate does swings away from the pool, self closing with self latching mechanism. The self latching mechanism is located no more than six inches from the top of the gate. LPA did not observe any objects located near the pool. The fence completely surround the pool and no windows or doors provide direct access to the pool. Report Continue on 809-C
