25 | On 3/20/24, Licensing Program Analyst Carla Polanco (LPA) met with Applicant's, Candelaria Espinoza & Eulises Longoria (A1 and A2) for the purpose of a pre-licensing inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entrance into the Family Childcare Home (FCCH). LPA provided the Entrance Checklist to A1. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance verified by LPA1 accessing Guardian. A1’s tentative hours of care are Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM. A1 does not intend on providing overnight or weekend care at this time.
A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside of the FCCH. A1 accompanied LPA for the entirety of the tour. The FCCH is a one-story house with entrance into the living room, kitchen, bedroom #1, a bathroom, bedroom #2, laundry area room area and a backyard with access to a basement. LPA verified that toxic and hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. LPA did not observe any stairs. The backyard and outdoor play area were toured. The main backyard area will be made off-limits to children in care. Applicants state they will use the play area on the right side of the house. Applicant's state, that children will be escorted to the play area through the front yard and side gate. LPA did not observe any pool, spa nor water feature.
A1 understands that 100% supervision is required for children in the front yard as it is not fenced. A1 stated that she does not own any pets.
The OFF-limits areas of the FCCH are bedroom #1 near the entrance of the house, the laundry room area and the backyard and basement through the sliding door in the back of the house. A1 understands that OFF-limits areas must remain inaccessible to children in care.
A functioning smoke detector and a functioning carbon monoxide detector were observed in the kitchen. LPA observed cleaners stored in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room in cabinets that are behind child safety locks. A H06386940 fire extinguisher and first aid kit were observed in the kitchen.
