On 7/12/21, at 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted a Required Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Robin Reed, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home’s living room, kitchen, converted garage, hallway bathroom and backyard are used for child care, while the home’s bedrooms are excluded. At the time of the inspection five children are present.

LPA observed required licensing forms and documents post on the wall in FCCH's converted garage. LPA observed a fireplace in the living room which is screened by a glass and inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed a smoke and a carbon monoxide detector in the FCCH. Each detector was tested (2:50 PM and 2:51 PM) and found to be operable. LPA observed a regulation fire extinguisher in the FCCH's converted garage area which was serviced on 5/6/21. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the home’s fire/disaster drill log. The most recent fire drill occurred on 3/21/21.

LPA observed the FCCH to be clean and orderly. The bathroom which is used for care is clean and free of toxins. LPA observed cleaning compounds on the shelf of an elevated kitchen cabinet. Additionally, LPA observed cleaning compounds in a kitchen cabinet under the sink. Each location for the cleaning compounds is secure and beyond the reach of children in care. LPA observed medications in the FCCH stored on elevated shelf in kitchen cabinet which is also inaccessible to children in care. Toys, furniture and equipment in the FCCH are age appropriate.

The FCCH's backyard is enclosed by wooden fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secure. The footing in the backyard area is made up of sand and wood bark. LPA observed the backyard to be partitioned by wire fencing which separated the area of play and a garden area which is also used by children in care. Toys and
