25 | On 7/21/21, at 9:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Required Inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Laurie Holcomb, Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The preschool uses a single classroom for child care services. LPA observed 15 children on site at the time of the inspection, along with a teacher.
LPA observed the CCC's classroom to be clean and organized. The classroom had age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care. The classroom has a carbon monoxide detector affixed to the classroom wall which was tested (10:20 AM) and found to be operable. The CCC's bathroom is in safe and sanitary operating condition. The CCC has an operable refrigerator which contained labeled food and beverages. Director informed LPA children in care bring lunches from home while the CCC supplies individualized snacks. LPA observed a posted menus in the classroom which outlined the future snacks to be provided. Additionally, licensing required notices and documents are posted predominately on the wall of the classroom in proximity to the entry/exit. LPA notes Sign In/Out form were reviewed and completed appropriately.
LPA observed disinfectants and cleaning solutions on an elevated shelf in the CCC's storage area which was secure and inaccessible to children in care. The Director informed LPA the CCC currently has no medication on site however, when medication is present, the medication is stored in the storage area on an elevated shelf, inaccessible to children in care.
The CCC’s outdoor playground area, which is comprised of a grass lawn, sand play area and concrete sidewalks, is enclosed by a chain linked fence. The fence’s entry/exit gate is secured. LPA observed age appropriate toys and play equipment in the play area. The toys and play equipment are in suitable condition
