32 | Required forms are posted on the FCCH. The FCCH has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that were tested during inspection and were operating. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher which was serviced on 05/24/2021. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the home’s fire/disaster drill documentation. The last drill was completed on 9/15/2021.
The outdoor yard is accessible to the children in care and is completely fenced. Licensee stated that most of their time is spent outdoors. The backyard has trees to provide shade for children in care. LPA observed bodies of water on site by means of a jacuzzi. Jacuzzi is located in the back yard on an elevated area that is off-limits to children in care. LPA observed that jacuzzi to be completely locked.
A sampling of the children's records was reviewed. The records are current, complete and possessed emergency contact information. The Licensee's records were also reviewed. Licensee has Pediatric CPR and First (EMSA approved) expiring 09/02/22 and Mandated Reporter certificates expires on 07/03/23.
The Licensee notes there are no firearms and ammunition stored on site.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
