25 | On 3/6/25, at 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Shane Loftus conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection of the above-mentioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Brianna Mallory, Director of the CCC and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The preschool uses three classrooms (2 - 3 year old Classroom, 3 ½ - 5 year old Classroom and 3 year old classroom) for care. LPA observed 37 children in care along with 9 teachers (cleared and associated) providing care and supervision.
LPA observed the CCC's classrooms to be clean and orderly. The classrooms were observed to have age-appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care. Toys include auditory, visual, and tactile stimulation items as well as items to and the manipulative skills of children. Each classroom has a carbon monoxide detector. A carbon monoxide detector was tested at 9:27 AM and found to be operable. The bathrooms in the CCC used by children in care are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The attached kitchen was observed to be clean and free of toxins. The CCC has an operable refrigerator that stores beverages and snacks. The CCC provides morning and afternoon snacks for the children, while lunches are provided by the parents of children in care. The children have filtered drinking water available both inside and outside the CCC.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the Licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA notes the CCC has a waiver on file for lead testing. |
