25 | On 10/04/2024 at 1:54 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joaquin Mendez conducted an unannounced Required inspection of the facility. The LPA met with Heather Luis, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the nature, scope, and purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home consists of three (3) bedrooms, two (2) bathroom, kitchen, dining room, home with garage. Licensee stated that children have access to the living room, kitchen, dining room, three (3) bedrooms, hallway bathroom, and backyard. Meanwhile the bathroom in the master bedroom and garage are in-accessible and excluded from childcare. At the time of the inspection, 4 children are present. LPA notes two (2) of the children are infants at the time of inspection.
The home was clean, orderly and has ventilation to afford for the children’s comfort and safety. Further, the home was void of hazardous items.
· At 2:20pm the LPA observed a smoke detector in the hall and carbon monoxide detector the bedroom. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were not tested due to the children napping during the inspection.
· Required forms are predominantly posted on the wall of the home.
· The home has a regulation fire extinguisher which had a purchase date 4/15/2024. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually.
· The home maintains working telephone services by way of cell phone.
· Medication in the home is stored in an elevated cabinet in the kitchen inaccessible to children in care.
· Knives and sharps are in an elevated shelf in the kitchen inaccessible to children in care.
· Cleaning compounds and chemicals are stored in a locked elevated cabinet in the kitchen and inaccessible.
