25 | On 10/8/24, at 2:30 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Shane Loftus & Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPAs met with Wendy Van Cleef, Lead Teacher of the CCC. LPAs explained the purpose and nature of the inspection. The preschool operates Monday through Friday 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. The CCC has 3 classrooms, 3 bathrooms, and an outdoor play area. At the time of inspection, LPAs observed 19 children on site, along with 4 teachers.
LPAs observed required licensing forms and documents posted by the sign in/sign out area of the CCC. The facility uses the Pro Care Application to sign children in/out of the CCC. LPAs reviewed sign in/out information and notes all information is completed appropriately, having the authorized parent's electronic signature, as well as entry and exit times. The CCC last conducted a fire drill on 9/11/24. The classrooms of the CCC are clean and orderly. The classrooms have age-appropriate equipment and furnishings available to children in care. The CCC's carbon monoxide detector was tested at 2:45 PM and found to be functional.
The CCC uses three restrooms, all are in sanitary operating condition. The CCC children are monitored by staff when using the restrooms. A morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack are provided by the children’s parents. The CCC provides occasional snacks if needed. The CCC provides filtered drinking water for children in care.
CCCs constructed before 1/1/20, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before 1/1/23, and then every 5-years except after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after 7/1/22, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPAs verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
