25 | On 6/20/25, at 9:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Sapien conducted an unannounced annual random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Valerie Montano, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. The LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home is a 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom two story home. The areas that are accessible for day care children are as follows: living room (main play room), family room (secondary play room), dining room, one bathroom, and the entirety of the backyard. The remainder of the home, including all of upstairs, is excluded from childcare services. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed 9 day care children present, three of whom were the Licensee's own children, and two of whom were infants. LPA also observed the Licensee's mother assisting with care of children (cleared and associated).
LPA observed the FCCH to be clean and orderly. The bathroom, utilized for childcare, is clean and free of toxins. Bathroom cabinets did not possess any hazardous items. Licensee informed LPA that primary cleaning solutions are stored in an elevated kitchen cabinet. In the kitchen, sharps are stored on an elevated kitchen counter. Personal medication is stored in an elevated space in a closet. No children currently require medication. LPA also observed a First Aid kit in the residence for the day care.
LPA observed age-appropriate toys, furnishings, and equipment throughout the main play room and secondary play room. Within the secondary playroom, LPA observed a fireplace that is enclosed by glass. LPA observed one small dog on site. Licensee informed LPA that the dog has some interaction with children in care.
LPA observed relevant licensing forms and documents posted prominently near the entryway of the residence. LPA observed a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector within the household. The detector was tested at (CONT. 809-C, Page 2)
