32 | The infant classroom has a changing table with a padded surface no less than one-inch thick covered with washable vinyl or plastic, with a sink in arm’s reach and in good repair. Highchairs present for feeding purposes and LPAs observed meal preparation area to be clean and in good working order. Changing table is not located in the kitchen/food-preparation area. LPAs observed crib napping area to be situated separate from the play area with sound absorbing material and visible and accessible to staff. Sufficient cribs were present with tight fitted sheets and no objects in or above the cribs. LPAs reminded director is to follow Title 22 and Health and Safety Codes regarding Safe Sleep and 15-Minute Checks with written log at all times.
Preschool classroom contains a variety of activities for children, comfortable temperature, ample ventilation and sufficent number of cots for the requested number of children. LPAs observed waste receptacles to have tightfitting covers, in good repair, leakproof and rodent-proof. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger are located in the staff bathroom. LPAs observed first aid kits, carbon monoxide detector present and functioning at the time of the inspection, and fire extinguisher last serviced on 10/2/2024. Per director, no firearms or ammunition are present on property.
Facility will provide 2 snacks, and LPAs observed kitchen to be clean, free of rodents or pests and in good working order. Menus shall be in writing and shall be posted at least one week in advance in an area accessible for review by the child's authorized representative. Copies of the menus as served shall be dated and kept on file for at least 30 days. Menus shall be made available for review by the child's authorized representative and the department upon request.
LPAs observed 2 separated play yards, 1 designated for infants and 1 designated for preschoolers. Play areas provide ample shade, age-appropriate toys and equipment, soft material to absorb falls and accessibility to water. The playgrounds are enclosed by regulation fencing to protect and to prevent co-mingling of the age groups. No bodies of water are present on the property.
Drinking water from a noncontaminating fixture or container shall be readily available both indoors and in the outdoor activity area. LPA advised per Health and Safety Code 1597.16(a)(1) Lead Testing and PIN-21-21-CCP Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test.
