25 | On November 14th, 2022 at approximately 8:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unannounced required annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. LPA met with licensee, Gizela Sipos. Present in the facility is licensee and two assistants caring for 9 children (2 infants and 6 preschool age). All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance and associated to the facility.
Per licensee, Gizela Sipos she would like to remove Vanessa Renkel as co-licensee and add Zenaida Gomez-Martinez. LPA inspected home and observed that Zenaida lives in the home and receives mail in the home. LPA will review paperwork and add Zenaida Gomez-Martinez as a co-licensee of the home.
Licensees owns home, which is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, single level house. Co-licensee's live in the home. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm. Daycare areas are: Playroom/converted Garage, Bathroom #1, Kitchen (eating only), Dining area (napping only), Backyard, and back porch. Off Limit areas are: Living Room, Bedroom #1, Bedroom #2, Bathroom #2, and Front yard. All off limit areas are properly barricaded.
LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee to inspect for health and safety hazards. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There were a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which were in good condition. Home has a fireplace that is properly barricaded in an off limit area. Licensee has a pet turtles. There are no pools, and bodies of water in the premises. All cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals were stored inaccessible to children. Discipline Policy was discussed.
There was a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone on site. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA reviewed five children's' record. LPA also reviewed facility and assistant records. Licensees CPR & First Aid Certificate will expire 09/2024. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training expires 11/2023. Last Emergency drill was conducted 11/2022. Emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and should be properly logged.
