25 | On November 4th, 2024, at approximately 12:40 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janet Gil conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with licensee, Gillian Smith Simone, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during LPA’s visit included licensee, spouse and 9 enrolled children (9 preschoolers). Per licensee, additional staff was on lunch break at the time of inspection. The licensee is a large license and is operating within capacity limits and ratio.
Licensee owns home, which is a 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, multi level house. Licensee lives in home with spouse, adult child, and roommate. All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance. Facility operates Monday Through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Day Care Areas: Lower-level family room, lower-level bathroom, and back yard.
Off Limit Areas: rest of the home (the entire upper floor). Off-limit areas are properly barricaded with child safety gates and/or closed doors. There are the stairs to the upper level that was observed to have a child safety gate.
At approximately 1:00 PM, LPA toured day care areas of home with licensee. LPA observed the home to be in repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Home is equipped with a variety of toys and materials that were observed to be in working condition. LPA observed a fully stocked accessible first aid kit located in the kitchen area. LPA did not observe any accessible cleaning supplies, poisons, and solutions in day care areas. LPA observed electrical outlets to be made inaccessible with furniture. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher and a carbon monoxide detector. LPA did not test carbon monoxide detector in main day care room due to children in care sleeping. Licensee has one child in care with a nut allergy. Licensee has epi-pen for child properly stored in original packaging. Per licensee, she provides all foods for the children in care.
At approximately 1:20 PM, LPA observed bathroom for children's use was in proper working condition. LPA observed bathroom to include appropriate toileting equipment and sanitation products. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials to be accessible to children in the bathroom.
