25 | On March 21, 2023 at approximately 12:45pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, annual inspection at Skyline College Child Development Center. LPA met with program coordinator, Michelle Amaral, and facility director, Tina Watts.
Program operates at Skyline College, Building 14, in classrooms #2-5. During LPA's visit, Classrooms #3 and #4 were only in operation. Hours of operation are Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, and Fridays 8:00am to 12:00pm.
Present during LPA's visit included 18 preschool age children with 6 staff members. Facility is operating within capacity limits and ratio during LPA's visit. All staff on site have fingerprint clearance on file.
LPA inspected day care areas currently in use, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards. LPA observed classrooms to be clean with proper temperature and ventilation. There are a variety of age appropriate toys and materials in classrooms that were observed to be in good working condition. Facility is equipped with multiple fire extinguishers, multiple first aid kits, and fire alarm system. Per program coordinator, smoke detector is a dual smoke/carbon monoxide detector. Storage for children's belongings are located in the classroom, labeled with children's individual names.
LPA observed all cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals to be stored in accessible to children in classroom's high shelves and/or locked behind child safety locked cabinets. Both classrooms have separate bathrooms for children in designated classrooms. LPA observed bathroom to be in proper working condition, equipped with appropriate sanitation products.
