25 | On October 29, 2024, at approx.9:10am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon met with Associate Director Lauren Ngoi for an unannounced annual inspection visit. Purpose of inspection was explained. Director Nicole Francis arrived during inspection. Present today were Directors, 40 staff and 153 preschool children. Facility is operating within capacity and in compliance with staff/child ratio. All staff present today have criminal background clearances. Facility operates a preschool program year-round from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:30pm.
LPA and Directors toured the facility for health and safety hazards. Facility operates 10 preschool classrooms in classrooms: #4, #5, #7, #8, #9, #11, #12, #13, #14 and #15. There is multipurpose room which is used by preschooler classrooms on a scheduled weekly basis. Multi-purpose room is equipped with foam mats, small trampolines, hula hoops and a variety of other activities for physical education purposes. Classrooms are clean and orderly with proper temperature and ventilation. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, child size furniture, learning materials, art supplies and sleeping cots. Storage cubbies are available for children to store personal belongings and are located outside classrooms. There are children restroom is each classroom; each with working toilets and a working sink with 3 faucets and no running hot water. There are changing tables located in restrooms. There is a separate staff restroom on site. All trash cans are equipped with tight fitting lids. All cleaning products, chemicals and toxins are stored and locked in cabinet and inaccessible to children. Per Director, parents provide sheet and blankets for napping and are sent home weekly for laundering or as needed. Bedding is stored on hooks outside classrooms. There are two outdoor play areas next to each other and separated by a 4 ft. fence. One area is currently being renovated and not in use. Second area is equipped with age-appropriate toys, a slide play structure with monkey bars, and other outdoor play equipment all in good repair. Playground areas are cushioned with blue rubber flooring and sand to absorb falls. There is also a sand area for children to play in. There are umbrellas and sunshades throughout outside playground areas to provide shade to children. The entire outdoors is completely enclosed with a 5 ft. privacy fence. There are no pools, spas, or other similar bodies of water on the premises. Per Director, there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
