25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Medlin met with facility representative for this case management visit. The purpose of this visit is due to facility re-opening after significant damage to child care areas due to the recent heavy storms. Facility had been flooded with structural damage. Facility has renovated and fixed all areas that were damaged including a walls, floors and a fence in outdoor area. The San Mateo County Fire Department approved the fire clearance on 4/19/2023. Days and hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM. Physical plant toured to inspect for health and safety hazards. There are fully charged fire extinguishers that meet minimum requirements, smoke detectors, and a carbon monoxide (CO) detector in the facility. There is a changing table with a sink nearby. Separate napping/crib area is in the classroom. A separate staff bathroom is available. No pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water are present. Per staff, there are no firearms or weapons on site. Variety of age appropriate toys and materials for children are available. Classroom is set up for child care and furniture and equipment for children is present. Snacks and meals are provided by facility. Adequate first aid supplies are available. Outdoor play area inspected for health and safety hazards. The areas around and under high climbing equipment is cushioned with soft rubber. The outdoor had a fence damage part of the fence due to a tree falling. The fence has been repaired. Facility is approved to resume operation effective today, 4/20/2023.
