On February 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon met with Assistant Director Nicole Ding, for an annual unannounced inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, in the facility today are 13 staff, and 53 children in care. Facility is operating within its capacity, and facility is following staff / child ratio on this day. Facility operates day care Monday to Friday from 08:00 - 6:00 PM.

LPA and Assistant Director inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. There are 3 Preschool and 1 toddler classrooms Facility is clean and in good repair and has proper heat and ventilation. All classrooms have age appropriated toys, furnishings and learning materials. Classrooms have storage cubbies for children’s personal backpack and sleeping supplies. Facility provides sleeping mats for children, which are stored away properly. There are children bathrooms available in each classrooms, with only cold running water for children to wash their hands. All cleaning solutions, poisons, and other chemicals dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children

LPA observed facility has working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, fully charged fire extinguisher, and sprinkler system. Each classroom has first aid supplies available in a backpack. Incident medical services supplies was observed with proper documentation and storage. Children personal water containers are properly labeled and are available in classroom and outdoors.

All bathrooms are in working condition. All storage containers for solid waste have fitted lids. Facility provides snacks and lunch; menus are posted in classrooms. Food is stored adequately to prevent contamination.

The outdoor play yards are free of hazards. The play yard is divided into three play areas and properly gated for scheduled outside time. Outdoor play area flooring consists of tanbark, rubber, and artificial grass to absorb impact of falls. There are several gazebos for protection from sun and concrete area for riding toys.

At 11:45 AM, Director Grace Yee arrived to assist with the inspection. LPA observed that facility is using electronic sign in/ out. Facility has license and all other required documents posted and visible for the public. Daily activity calendars and waivers are posted and are visible to the child's authorized representative. Facility’s last emergency fire drill was conducted 01/27/2023 and is properly logged.

LPA reviewed 5 random children's files. Children’s files are complete with all required Licensing documents. LPA reviewed 5 random staff's files. Per Director, all contact information on file is current.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Director is aware that all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. LPA observed the completion certificates on file. LPA encourages the licensee to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates.

No deficiencies were cited today under CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3.

This report must be available in the facility for public review. Notice of site visit is to be posted and shall remain posted for next 30 days.
