25 | On September 27, 2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Maria Olguin-Leon and Jonathan Tse met with Licensee, Alina Ivanchykava for an unannounced annual inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained. Present today was Licensee, helper and 10 children (3 infant and 7 preschool age). All adults working at facility have fingerprint clearance. Licensee is operating within capacity and ratio requirements on this day. Hours of operation are Monday– Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30pm.
LPA’s and Licensee toured the home for health and safety hazards. Licensee rents two story townhouse.
Day Care Areas: Living room, Dining room, hallway, 1st floor bedroom (napping purposes only), 1st floor bathroom and backyard. Off Limits Areas: Kitchen, garage, and entire 2nd floor. Staircase is properly barricaded with a child proof gate. Kitchen is properly barricaded with a child proof gate. Fireplace in living room is properly barricaded with cubbies and toys and is inaccessible. Brick around fireplace is properly lined with rubber padding. Home is well light and has proper ventilation. Cleaning supplies and other potentially harmful items are stored inaccessible to the children. LPA's reminded Licensee to place a child proof lock on medicine cabinet so that it is inaccessible to children in care. All electrical outlets are secured with child proof covers. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, child size furnishings, learning material, and sleeping cots. Backyard has plenty of age-appropriate play toys, play structure, and ride on toys. Outdoor backyard flooring is a wood deck. There are mats located underneath play structure to cushion falls. Backyard is surrounded with a 5 ft. fence. There are no spas, pools, or other bodies of waters.
Home is equipped with a dual working carbon monoxide/smoke detector and a fully charged fire extinguisher. LPA's reminded Licensee to place fire extinguisher in an accessible location. Isolation area for ill children will be in napping room and away from other children. First aid kit is fully stocked with supplies. Licensee uses a cell phone on the premises. Per licensee there are no weapons or firearms in the home. Parents provides sheets for sleeping mats and are washed weekly or when soiled. LPA's reminded Licensee about the importance of documenting 15 minute sleeping logs for all children under the age of 2 and to keep logs in children’s files.
