25 | On January 8, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Daniel Oquendo conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA and LPM met with Director Yasha Nasiripour and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present in the facility today were, Director, 5 staff caring for a total of 15 infant children. All adults working in the facility have criminal background clearances and are associated to the facility. Facility is operating within capacity and in compliance with staff/child ratio. Facility operates an infant and preschool program from Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm.
LPA, LPM and Director toured the indoors and outdoors of facility for health and safety hazards. Infant program operates in one classroom; infants ages are birth to 24 months. Classroom is clean with proper temperature and ventilation. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, infant furnishings, playmats, and learning materials all in good repair. Classroom is equipped with storage cubbies for children to store personal items, diapers, and belongings. Classroom is equipped with two diaper changing pad within arms reach of a sink. Tables are equipped with changing paper sheets, that are changed after each diapering. Potty chairs are available for potty training children. There is a separate bathroom in facility for staff use. All trash containers in classroom have tight fitted lids. Per Director, a work order has been submitted to school district office to repair missing door on lower cabinet and repair another lower cabinet door. All cleaning products, chemicals and toxins are stored and locked in cabinet and inaccessible to children. Infant sleeping area is separate from infants’ activity area and has plenty of cribs and cots for napping; facility provides sheets for cribs and cots and are washed weekly or as needed.
Infants’ outdoor playground is separate from the preschool program. Playground is equipped with age-appropriate activity structures, push toys and other age-appropriate toys, all in good condition. Facility has four-seat strollers available for walking infants outside. Trees provide shade for children. Playground flooring is equipped with rubber flooring to cushion falls. Playground is surrounded with a 5 ft metal fence and a 3 ft. fence to separate infant and preschool playground. LPA did not observe any pools, spas, or other bodies of water. Per Director, there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
