25 | On November 15, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Garcia arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced Plan Of Correction (POC) inspection of the facility for Lead Action Level Exceedance (ALE). LPA met with director, Sophin Francis and explained the purpose of the visit. Director granted entrance for LPA and was given a tour of the whole facility. There were 46 children in the preschool license with 6 teachers on site.
The facility has two licenses, the preschool license is 414004681 and the infant license is 414004679. The infant license had fixture A tested and had no exceedances. The facility's water was tested on January 6, 2023 and had an exceedance on the preschool license. The affected are fixtures B(6.7) which is an adult sink located on Starlight classroom for the threes. The other fixture with an ALE is fixture D(290), an outdoor drinking fountain which, according to the director, the children were instructed not to use. The facility had fixture B completely removed around August 5, 2023 and replaced the space by a cabinet. The outdoor sink D was removed on November 13, 2023. The facility removed one of sinks in the preschool bathroom due to a labeling error. That bathroom fixture was incorrectly labeled as 'D' and was removed but it was never part of the samples that were tested by the water samplers because it was only a hand washing sink. The facility plans to reinstall the fixture, totaling to 6 available sinks for the children to use. Currently, the facility has 5 usable sinks for the children and are within the ratio of 1 sink per 15 children. That is a total of 75 children for the sinks and the total allowable capacity of the facility is 72.
The facility is currently using other sinks that passed the lead water sampling for food preparation, also are filling up Brita the pitchers for ingestion from the same source.
No deficiencies cited during today's visit and deficiency cited on July 26, 2023 will be cleared.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the site director, Sophin Francis. |
