25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon conducted an announced Case Management visit in conjunction with an Annual inspection and met with Licensee, Consepcion Rodriquez. The Department received an application from the facility requesting a capacity increase on March 30, 2023. Current facility is licensed as a small daycare and requesting an increase to a large family daycare. Fire Clearance is still pending from Redwood City Fire Department. Present in the home are Licensee, Licensee spouse & two adult sons, assistant and 4 daycare children (3 infants and 1 preschool age). All adults are fingerprint cleared with our department.
LPA and Licensee inspected home for Health and Safety Hazards. Licensee is adding bedroom on first floor to daycare area for napping purposes only. Daycare areas will be living room (daycare room), bedroom and backyard. Kitchen and hall way are for walk through purposes only to the backyard.
All required postings are properly posted (License/Parent’s Rights poster/Emergency Disaster Plan and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist). Licensee understands that care cannot be provided for more than the capacity as stated on the license. LPA provided Licensee with capacity regulation flyer and capacity limits of a Large License have been reviewed with Licensee. Licensee is reminded that when operating at a Large capacity, there must be a Helper present.
Final License approval for a Large Family Child Care Home will be recommended upon:
*Fire Clearance approval from Redwood City Fire Department
*Completion of Mandated Reporter training
