25 | On January 12th, 2024 at approximately 8:35am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Manudjano conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection to add new areas to daycare and met with licensee, Maribel Aguilar Torres. Fire Clearance was received by Menlo Park Fire Department on 1/08/24. Present in the home are licensee and two assistants supervising 9 children (2 infants and 7 preschool age). Facility is operating within teacher-child ratio. All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance and are associated to the facility.
Licensee rents home, which is a three bedroom two bathroom house with front and backyard. Licensee lives in home with adult husband and a minor child. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7am-6pm. Licensee asked to approve Bedroom #1 and the entire front yard. LPA Tapia-Mandujano conducted health and safety inspection for those areas. Bedroom #1 and Front Yard appeared to be clean, free of hazardous objects, and are set up with age-appropriate materials.
LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There is a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which are in good condition. There are no pools, spas, or bodies of water on the property. Home does not have a fireplace. Backyard is fenced and properly barricaded. All cleaning supplies, poisons, and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to children. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. Per licensee, there are pet bunnies in the home. Licensee's CPR & First Aid expires on 04/2025. Licensee's Mandated Reporter certificate expires on 06/2025. Postings were posted near main door. Licensee is reminded of NO walker, exersaucers, jumpers, bouncers and any similar items to be used for children in care and shall be made inaccessible.
LPA has approved Bedroom #1 and Front yard during todays inspection.
New Daycare areas are: Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom #1, Bathroom #1, Front Yard, and front portion of the backyard. OFF limit areas are: Kitchen (pass through only), Bedroom #2 and #3, Bathroom #2, Basement, and Back portion of the backyard. All off limit areas are properly barricaded.
No deficiencies were cited today under CCR, Title 22, Div. 12, Chapt. 1.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
