25 | On February 17, 2023 at 12:25 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Cowan conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Licensees Alexander and Grace Sobieski. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Present in the facility is Licensees and 2 staff caring for 9 preschool age. Licensee lives in a 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom house. Day-care areas: lower level family room, kitchenette, lower level bathroom 3, lower level bedroom 3. Off Limit areas: Upper level kitchen, living room bedrooms 1, 2, and 3, and bathrooms 1 and 2 . The day-care operation hours are Monday to Friday from AM 8:15 to 5:15 PM.
At 12:35 PM, LPA observed the following: Day-care area is equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment for the children. Home has sufficient lighting and ventilation. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. There are no bodies of water on the property. There are no poisons, detergents, or cleaning products accessible to day-care children. Licensees' CPR expires 2-5-24 Licensee conducted last emergency drill on 9/15/22 and is properly logged. Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. Discipline policy is mainly redirection.
During inspection, LPA discussed facility cleaning
At 1:00 PM, LPA reviewed facility files. Licensee has all required postings posted for parents to review.
*Licensee was reminded about having all Staff and Volunteers provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption.
*Licensee was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website.
*Licensee was reminded about Mandated Reporter Training available on CCLD website (www.ccld.ca.gov or www.mandatedreporterca.com)
*Licensee was given information regarding ‘Safe Sleep’ practices.
