25 | On April 7th, 2023 at approximately 1:20pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unannounced required annual inspection and met with licensee, Maria M. Espinosa Bueso. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present in the facility are licensee and assistant caring for 7 enrolled children (3 infants and 4 preschool age). Licensee is within capacity limits of the License. All adults living and working in the home have a criminal record clearance on file.
Applicant rents home, which is a three bedroom two bathroom house with front, side and backyard. Licensee lives in home with adult son and minor daughter. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Daycare area is: Daycare Room, Bathroom #1, and backyard. OFF limit areas: Kitchen (pass through only to Bathroom #1), Bedroom #1-3, Bathroom #2, front and side yards. All off limit areas are properly barricaded.
LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There were a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which were in good condition. Home does have a fireplace that is properly barricaded. Per licensee, there are pets in the home. There were no pools, spas or bodies of water on the property. All cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals were stored inaccessible to children. Discipline Policy was discussed.
There was a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone on site. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA reviewed children’s records and facility records. Licensee's CPR & First Aid Certificate has since expired. Assistant has a valid CPR & First Aid and expires 09/2023. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training will expire on 02/2025. Last Emergency Drills was 01/2023. Emergency Drills must be conducted at least once every six months and should be properly logged.
