25 | On December 6, 2024, at 8:30am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with Director Priyanka Sharma and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present in the facility today were, Director, 9 staff and 29 children (15 toddlers & 14 preschoolers). All adults working in the facility have criminal background clearances and are associated to the facility. Facility is operating within capacity and in compliance with staff/child ratio. Facility operates infant, toddler, and preschool program from Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm.
LPA and Director toured the facility for health and safety hazards. Facility operates a preschool with a toddler option program. Preschool program operates in three classrooms: classrooms #1, #2 and #3 and toddler classroom in classroom #4. Currently preschool classroom #3 is not being used. Classrooms are clean and orderly with proper temperature and ventilation. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, child size furniture, learning materials, indoor dramatic play areas and sleeping cots all in good repair. Classrooms are equipped with wall storage hooks for children to store personal belongings. There is restroom located between classrooms #1 and #2, which is equipped with two working toilets and two sinks with no running hot water. Toddler classroom is equipped with a restroom with two toilets, a portable toilet and sink. LPA observed a changing table in toddler classroom which was equipped with children’s diapers and toiletries. Changing table is within arms reach of a sink for hand washing. There is a separate restroom in facility for staff usage. All trash containers in restroom and in classroom have tight fitted lids. All cleaning products, chemicals and toxins are stored and locked in cabinet and inaccessible to children. Facility has plenty of sleeping cots available for napping and parents provide sheets and blankets for napping and are sent home weekly for laundering or as needed.
Outdoor playground is shared between preschool and toddler program. Playground is equipped with an age-appropriate climbing/slide play structure, an activity structure, ride on toys and tables for sitting, all in good condition. There are canopies to provide shade for children. Playground flooring is colored rubber to cushion falls. Playground is surrounded with a 5 ft metal fence which is equipped with a mesh for privacy. LPA did not observe any pools, spas, or other bodies of water. Per Director, there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
