25 | On December 6, 2024, at 12:30pm Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with Director Priyanka Sharma and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present in the facility today were, Director, 2 staff caring for a total of 6 infant children. All adults working in the facility have criminal background clearances and are associated to the facility. Facility is operating within capacity and in compliance with staff/child ratio. Facility operates an infant, toddler, and preschool program from Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm.
LPA and Director toured the facility for health and safety hazards. Infant program is in classroom #5; infants ages are 3 months – 17 months. Classroom is clean with proper temperature and ventilation. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, infant furnishings, playmats, and learning materials all in good repair. Wall storage hooks are available for children to store personal items, diapers, and belongings. Classroom is equipped with diaper changing table for diapering children. There a restroom located in classroom with a working toilet and sink with no running hot water. A second foldable changing table is in restroom. Tables are equipped with changing paper sheets, that are changed after each diapering and table is disinfected. There is a separate bathroom in facility for staff use. All trash containers in classroom have tight fitted lids. All cleaning products, chemicals and toxins are stored and locked in cabinet and inaccessible to children. Facility has plenty of sleeping cots and cribs available for napping; parents provide fitted sheets for cribs/cots and are sent home weekly or as needed for washing. Infant sleeping area is separate from infants’ activity area.
Infants share outdoor playground with preschool and toddler program. Playground is equipped with an activity structure, ride on toys and a small portable slide, all in good condition. Facility also has a four-seat stroller for walking infants outside. There are canopies to provide shade for children. Playground flooring is colored rubber to cushion falls. Playground is surrounded with a 5 ft metal fence which is equipped with a mesh for privacy. LPA did not observe any pools, spas, or other bodies of water. Per Director, there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
