On August 6, 2024, at approximately 1:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon, conducted an unannounced case management inspection at Peninsula Jewish Community Center Infant Center. Facility submitted an application on July 2024, for an increase of capacity for the infant program. LPA met with Director, Nicole Francis, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Currently facility is on summer break and not in session.

Program is a licensed combination program for infants, preschool and after school. The program is adding classroom #3 room to their infant program and decreasing classroom from preschool capacity. Program is requesting to increase capacity from 29 infants to 41 infants. Director plans to use classroom #3 for infants ages 12 months to 24 months. Director was reminded that preschool children cannot commingle with the infant program.

Classroom #3, previously a preschool classroom, was measured today for the infant classroom. Classroom #3 was measured for 688.5 sq ft. The total allowable capacity measured for Classroom #3 measures for 688.5 sq ft. equaling 19 infants. Classrooms #1, #2, and #10 will remain infant classrooms. Classroom #1 is for infants 6mths-12months, and the remainder of the classrooms are for 12mths – 24mths infants. Based on LPA meaurements classroom #3 accomodates 19 infants.

LPA observed classroom to be equipped with a variety of toys and equipment that are in good working condition. Classroom is equipped with a centralized fire alarm system. Carbon monoxide and smoke alarm is built into the fire alarm system. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher. Electrical outlets were made inaccessible with child safety covers. Program will utilize cots for napping children that will be stored in the classroom. LPA observed room to be completely set up and ready for infant program.
