Outdoor: There are two outdoor playground areas that children will have access to. Playground #1 is directly located outside P-2. Playground #1 was measured for 2,703.26 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 36 children. Playground #1 was observed to be fully fenced and enclosed. Playground #1 includes a play structure that was observed to have resilient padding underneath.
Playground #2 is located outside C-1. Playground #2 includes a grass area, garden area and play structure area. Open black top area is not for children's use. Playground #2 was measured for 7,221.06 sq. ft allowing for a capacity of 96 children. LPA observed play structure in playground #2 to have resilient padding underneath. LPA advised applicant to enclose playground #2 to keep children separate from black tops area. Applicant is aware staff are to always supervise children when in outdoor area.
Total outdoor area measures for 9,924.32 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 132 children.
LPA reviewed with applicant, the LIC 311A, Records to Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.
LPA reminded applicant to conduct and document emergency disaster drills at least once every six months. The requirement for Lead Water Testing was discussed (H&S Code 1597.16). Applicant was reminded a facility licensed after July 1, 2022, must have their water fixtures tested for lead 180 days after licensure and every 5 years thereafter. LPA advised applicant to review PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
