25 | On February 19, 2025, @ approx. 1:20 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Maria Olguin-Leon and Jaclyn Naves met with Licensee Tanya Gray to conduct an unannounced annual inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained to licensee. Present during today’s visit was licensee, spouse, two helpers and 8 preschool age children. All adults present today have criminal background clearances. Facility is operating within capacity and ratio requirements on this day. Hours of operation are Monday– Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 am.
LPAs and licensee toured the home for health and safety hazards. Home is a single-story home. The DAY CARE AREAS: are entrance foyer, family room, living room, bedrooms #2 & #5, bathroom #1, and backyard. The OFF-LIMIT AREAS: kitchen and bedroom #1, bedroom #3 (office), bedroom #4, bathroom #2, and garage. Home has proper ventilation and lighting throughout home. LPA observed plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, child size furnishings, learning material, and child size beds, all in good condition. LPAs observed electrical outlets are secured with child proof covers or located behind furniture. Fireplace is properly barricaded with shelving and inaccessible to children in care. Cleaning supplies and other potentially harmful items are stored inaccessible to children in care. Bathroom was clean and equipped with children's toiletries and all cabinet were equipped with a child proof locks. There is a child proof gate between kitchen and living room and between kitchen and entrance foyer. Backyard is equipped with small slide structure, ride on toys, a swing set and other age-appropriate toys, all in good condition. Backyard is equipped with childproof gates between patio and grass areas. Off limits areas on side of home is equipped with a child proof gate. The entire backyard is equipped with a 5 ft. wood fence. There is cement patio equipped with rugs and grass and artificial grass throughout backyard to cushion falls. LPA did not observe any spas, pools, or other bodies of water.
Home is equipped with working carbon monoxide detector and a working smoke detector. A fully charged fire extinguisher is located at entrance of home. Isolation area for ill children will be in bedroom #2 and away from other children. First aid kit is fully stocked with supplies. Licensee uses a cell phone on the premises. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. Licensee provides sheets for beds and are washed weekly or as needed. LPAs reminded licensee must be present at the home 80% of the time when children are being cared for.
