LPAs and the licensee conducted an inspection to identify potential health and safety hazards. The indoor daycare areas were found to be clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys, furniture, and educational materials. The Family Child Care Home (FCCH) demonstrated proper lighting, ventilation, and absence of hazards endangering children, along with essential safety equipment such as a fully stocked first aid kit, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and a charged fire extinguisher. Measures were taken to ensure child safety, including covering garbage cans and power outlets and storing cleaning products out of reach or secured with child safety locks. Licensee confirmed that no firearms or weapons were present on the premises.
The entire backyard was securely enclosed and furnished with playground equipment in good condition, featuring cushioned areas under high climbing equipment to absorb falls. No pools, spas, or other bodies of water were on the premises.
Licensee was reminded of the capacity limits specified in the license, with a review of the limits for large and small family childcare homes. It was emphasized that when no assistant provider is present, the licensee must adhere to the capacity requirements for a Small Family Childcare Home, allowing for the care of up to eight children. The licensee was also reminded of their obligation to be physically present and ensure continuous supervision of all children in care. In the event of temporary absence, arrangements must be made for a substitute adult to supervise the children, with absences not exceeding 20% of the facility's operating hours per day.
As of 5/24/24 the Large License will not be approved and will be pending till further clarification from Fire, it the bathroom area (Only bathroom) in the house can be approved for use for children. As of 5/1/24 Fire has said “Second Floor is NOT approved for childcare use.”
