On November 19, 2024 at 1:30 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced inspection to deliver the findings of the above mentioned allegation. LPA met with Lead teacher Maggie McCort and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. At the time of inspection there were 15 children and 3 staff.

The Department received a complaint alleging facility staff is not providing a clean environment for day-care children. The complainant alleges that the floors have dirt and hair. The allegation also indicated the trash is piled up with soiled diapers “stacked” on top of each other causing flies to attract. The investigation included two unannounced inspections, LPA’s observations, interviews with staff and interviews of former and current parents of children in care. Interviews, record reviews and LPA’s observations did not corroborate the allegations noted above.

Investigations revealed that staff members take out the trash once the bins are full. Furthermore the center has a third party cleaning service which comes into the facility on a nightly basis to clean the surfaces. Parents who were interviewed did not complain about the facility’s cleanliness and deny observing overfilled trash bins. All parents interviewed are satisfied with the level of care and supervision their children receive.

Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is no preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.

No deficiencies were issued during this inspection.

Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with lead teacher Maggie McCort.
