25 | On February 7, 2023 at 1:45 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced Case Management-Licensee Initiated inspection to increase the capacity. LPA met with site director Brittney Grimshaw and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the director, LPA toured the facility inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were 4 infants present along with 2 teachers. No bodies of water were observed.
The center submitted an application to increase the capacity from 6 to 12 infants. A fire clearance was granted by the Carpinteria- Summerland Fire Department on 1/17/2023.
The center plans on using one room for infant care. The room was observed to be clean and free of toxins/hazardous items. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys and learning materials available for children to use. LPA observed a changing table within arms reach to a sink. Based on the room measurements, this room has the capacity of accommodating 10 infants at a time.
The center plans on using an adjacent room for napping. The outdoor activity area has an ample amount of space and has age-appropriate toys and play structures. The center currently uses an outdoor patio umbrella to provide shade and is planning on installing a canopy to provide shade at a later time.
The center meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements. License will be effective today, 2/7/2023 for total capacity of 10 infants.
No deficiencies were cited.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with director Brittney Grimshaw.
