Indoor areas of the facility were inspected by the LPA today and observed to be clean, orderly, and safe for the day care children. LPA observed sufficient age-appropriate materials, toys, and play equipment in the facility. Furniture, such as tables, chairs, and shelves, are in good condition and safe for children. The floors were clean and free of tripping hazards. Drinking water is readily available for children in the facility via water pitchers. The water comes from the kitchen sink where the reverse osmosis filter has been installed and children refill their personal water bottles from home. If children forget their bottles, disposable cups are provided. Staff and children’s bathrooms are clean, sanitary, and operable. There is a separate staff bathroom, not utilized by the children. Children are isolated in the office if they become ill while in care. There is a working telephone in the facility. Cleaning and maintenance for the facility is conducted by an outside service and is completed in the evenings after all day care children have left the premises. Teachers clean floors and surfaces as necessary during the day. The AD states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. The outdoor areas of the facility were inspected and observed to be fenced in. LPA observed two separate playgrounds. Both playgrounds display a plaque stating the age appropriate is 2-5 years old. LPA observed the equipment was in good condition, age-appropriate, and has sufficient resilient materials (tanbark) to absorb falls. No outdoor bodies of water were observed during today’s inspection. Shaded rest area is provided by canopy and trees.
Food is provided by the facility and is stored, prepared, and served in a safe and healthful manner to the children. Facility offers a full day program and provides midmorning snack and afternoon snack to children. Thursdays only an optional pizza lunch is provided for children that opt in. Menu is in writing and posted at least one week in advance, accessible to authorized representatives. The kitchen and storage area is clean and free of litter and rubbish. LPA observed milk for children to expire 01/23/2025 and 02/05/2025. LPA observed dry goods to expire in December of 2025. Equipment necessary for the storage, preparation and service of food is well maintained, clean, and sanitized after each use.
