32 | LPA toured the home. Inside off-limits areas included all of upstairs (gated at the bottom), living room, and attached garage. The home was clean, well-ventilated, and furnished with safe, age-appropriate toys and equipment. A fully charged 2A-10B-C fire extinguisher last serviced 1/5/26 was available. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found to be working. A functioning telephone was also present. A barricaded fireplace is in the living room.
Hazardous items, including cleaning supplies, detergents, medications, and poisons, were stored out of children’s reach. No dangerous conditions were observed. The licensee stated there were no firearms in the home, and smoking was prohibited.
Outdoor areas were inspected. Off-limits area is the pool area that is enclosed with required mesh fence that is locked.
Licensee conducted the required daily pool inspections. LPA observed that the in-ground swimming pool was equipped with a mesh safety cover measuring approximately 60 inches in height. The pool was enclosed and separated from the home, and the commercial grade pool cover was installed by a contractor in compliance with ASTM standards. Regulations regarding pool enclosure and covers were reviewed. The additional required safety equipment, including a 12-foot body hook and a 17 inch life ring was observed. However, licensee was missing the pool alarm at the entrance to the water; therefore, a Type B citation was issued and documented on the attached LIC 809D.
Licensee CPR/First Aid certification expires 6/5/26. The Mandated Reporter certificate expires 5/31/26. Assistant Julian Gacayan CPR/First Aid certification expires 5/8/26 and mandated reporter available
Three children’s files were reviewed and were complete, including LIC282 forms in each child’s file. LPA reminded the licensee that if transportation is provided in the future, a valid driver’s license is required, children may not be left unattended in vehicles, and proper car seats or booster seats must be used.
