Present for the inspection was the site director Morena Waack, assistant director Marie Nastke, 7 staff members and 55 children in care (preschool children ages 3 to 4). Children bring in their own water bottles from home, the school has completed the lead testing and does not have any detectible levels of lead.
The facility is clean and well organized with ample age appropriate furnishings and equipment. Surfaces including floors and counter tops are clean and toxic free. There were no hazardous items/toxins observed to be accessible to children in care today. There are no bodies of water accessible to children in care.
LPA observed solid waste containers with tight-fitting lids. Each classroom has a fully charged fire extinguisher, the last annual inspection was done 8-04-2022. Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were available in each room, tested and working. Heating and ventilation is acceptable. Disaster drills are conducted every month, the last drill was conducted on April 20, 2023. There are separate staff bathrooms in the office not used by children. Director stated that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
Any medications at the facility are stored in each of the classroom in high cupboards in each room. There were no expired medications found. Children bring in their own food from home, or the children are given lunch through a lunch service approved by their parents. |
