32 | The outdoor area of the facility was inspected and observed to be fenced in. LPA observed play equipment was in good condition, age-appropriate, and has sufficient resilient materials (rubber padding) to absorb falls. No outdoor bodies of water were observed during today’s inspection. Shaded rest area is provided by canopy and building overhang.
Depending on the child's developmental stage, Food can be provided by the facility and is stored, prepared, and served in a safe and healthful manner to the children. Facility offers a meal plan that can be purchased and a third party delivers a hot lunch each day. As infants transition, parents are encouraged to try solid foods and provide day care with instructions as to what infants can eat as it evolves until infants are completely on solids. The facility provides an AM/PM snack and the menu is in writing and posted at least one week in advance, accessible to authorized representatives. The kitchen and storage area is clean and free of litter and rubbish. Equipment necessary for the storage, preparation and service of food is well maintained, clean, and sanitized after each use. Water is provided by the tap and placed into a Brita filter pitcher and children's personal water bottles from home are refilled. LPA observed water bottles to have child's name on them. Director stated if children forgot their water bottles, a cup would be provided.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. LPA was provided a copy of the lead test completed by the facility on 05/02/2022 with the findings being provided on 05/18/2022. All the water faculties passed.
5 children’s files (infants) were reviewed during today’s inspection for the following records: Physician’s Report (LIC701), Notification of Parents Rights (LIC995A), Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment (LIC627), Identification and Emergency Information (LIC700), Signed Admission Agreement, and Immunization Records (PM286). LPA observed Individual Infant Sleep Plans (LIC9227), sleep check documentation and updated Infant Sleep plans were present for all records reviewed.
