25 | On 06/29/21, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) James Sampair conducted an unannounced random annual site inspection of this facility beginning at 1:51PM. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Rochelle Westmoreland. Ms. Westmoreland directed a tour for LPA Sampair through all areas of the facility inside and outside. Present at the facility were 5 teaching staff (all Fully Qualified Teachers) who cared for 18 children in the Sea Lions, Dolphins, Starfish, and Sea Horse Rooms. The facility was within capacity, as is the Teacher-Child Ratio. All of the children are being supervised and all of the staff present are background cleared and associated with this facility.
The furnishings and equipment are age-appropriate and free of broken or sharp pieces. Counters and surfaces, including floors, are free of toxins. There are no hazardous items/toxins observed to be accessible to children in care. The facility provides both lunches and snacks for the children that are delivered fresh to the facility by the Google Culinary Team and stored appropriately until it is served to the children. The food preparation area and refrigerators were clean and organized. The outdoor play areas are fully fenced with age-appropriate climbing equipment and slides in the play areas that are securely anchored with cushioning under and around the structures.
There are no pools or other bodies of water accessible to children. There are fully charged fire extinguishers in each of the classrooms and the facility has centralized fire alarm system with integrated carbon monoxide in each room. Per Ms. Westmoreland, there are no firearms present or stored on the premises. 3 children's files were reviewed and they were complete. 2 staff records were reviewed and they were complete. More than one staff member present has current CPR/First Aid certification. All required postings were present. |
