At 8:20AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Angela Luz and Andy Yang met with Licensee Colista Torcellini to conduct an unannounced annual 3-YEAR REQUIRED inspection. Present for this inspection were Licensee, (6) children, and (1) fingerprint cleared staff. The home was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM-5:00 PM. Ages served are 4 months to 3.5 years old.

Facility:
The OFF LIMIT AREAS are the office, bathroom next to the office, closet in the play area, sides of the backyard, garage, basement, and entire second floor. Off limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. There is a child safety gate at the bottom of the staircase leading to the second floor. The door to the basement was unlocked, but closed. LPA observed a fireplace with a screen and barricade. The home is neat and clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The ISOLATION AREA is the living room. The outdoor play area is free from defects and/or dangerous conditions and is fully fenced. There is fencing to separate the on and off limit areas of the backyard. There have been no changes from the areas previously identified as OFF LIMITS or alterations to existing building or grounds. There is a covered and locked spa in the on limits area of the backyard. The spa has 4 plastic locks, one on each side. There is a large metal rod attached to the ground that swivels over the spa on top of the cover and secured by a strap. LPAs observed knives in kitchen drawers and hazardous materials on the table in the on limit area of the backyard. LPA reminded the Licensee that items which could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where they are inaccessible to children. Licensee states that there are no firearms in the home. The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector, and working telephone.

Care and Supervision: There are ample age-appropriate toys that appear to be safe and in good condition.
