25 | On April 7, 2026, at 12:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with Assistant Director Mayra Gonzalez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and toured the facility, both inside and outside, to conduct a health and safety inspection. There were 78 preschool-age children present during the inspection, along with 12 staff members. The facility consists of six (6) classrooms and operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
LPA reviewed facility records and verified that all individuals subject to criminal record review have obtained a clearance or exemption and are properly associated with the facility. A census of the children was conducted, and the count matched the 78 electronic signatures recorded in the facility’s electronic sign-in system. LPA reviewed three (3) children’s files and two (2) staff files. All staff files contained required health screening documentation and Employee Rights forms. Children’s files included Personal Rights, Medical Consent forms, and Identification and Emergency Information. At least one staff member present held a current CPR and First Aid certification.
All six (6) classrooms were inspected, and appropriate teacher-to-child ratios were observed. Classrooms were equipped with adequate play and learning materials. Floors were well maintained, and furniture was appropriately sized for preschool-age children. Classroom equipment was in good repair, and room temperatures were comfortable. Each child had proper individual storage space, with cubbies labeled with their names. The designated isolation area for ill children is located in the director’s office, separate from children in care.
LPA tested the facility’s carbon monoxide detectors and confirmed they were functioning properly. The smoke detector system is hardwired and designed to notify the fire department when activated. Per the Director, the system is fully operational and regularly serviced. The center is equipped with a working telephone, a pull-down fire alarm system, and multiple fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers throughout the facility, meeting standards established by the State Fire Marshal. Disaster drills are conducted at least once every six months, with the most recent drill completed on March 10, 2026. All required documents are posted in a publicly accessible area.
