25 | On September 21, 2023 at 9:10 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico conducted an announced Prelicensing Inspection. Applicant submitted an application requesting a capacity of 14 children. LPA met with Applicant, Yesha Suchday, and explained the purpose of today's visit. Per Applicant, the adults that reside in the home are herself and her husband. Applicant's two children ages 13 years and 9 years old are also living in the home. The home is a one story with three bedrooms and two baths. The Santa Clara County Fire Department granted a fire clearance for 14 children on September 6, 2023.
Days and hours of operation will be Monday - Friday from 8:30AM to 5:30PM. Applicant has completed the Preventative Health and Safety Training including Nutrition and Lead Poisoning Prevention and a copy of the certification is on file. Applicant's CPR and First Aid certifications are current and expire on August 13, 2025. Applicant completed the Mandated Reporter Training on August 31, 2022. Applicant's immunizations in measles, pertussis, and flu are on file. Applicant states that she is planning to obtain daycare insurance once licensed.
The Applicant owns the home. The Applicant provided proof of control of property.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. LPA observed: barricaded kitchen, covered fireplace, fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Off limit areas inside the home are: kitchen, Bedroom #2, Bedroom #3, Bath #2, and garage. The home is clean and orderly, with heating/air conditioning, and ventilation for safety and comfort. There is sufficient toys, supplies, and equipment for the day care children. Applicant states that there are no weapons in the home. Off limit areas outside the home: fenced area of the backyard and left side yard. There were no bodies of water observed.
Forms of discipline to be used by Applicant: talking to children and redirection. Cleaning products, toxic agents, medications, and sharp objects were inaccessible to children. LPA reminded Applicant that smoking, baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and similar items are not allowed in Family Child Care Homes.
