Room 3 is currently being used as storage and staff room. Director understands that she needs to notify Licensing prior to them using the room for a final inspection. There are 91 chairs, 10 tables, 50 cubbies, 54 cots, 6 sinks, 4 toilets, and 1 urinal. There is only cold running water in the sinks. There are toys for children. All equipment and furniture are age appropriate. Facility also has a half day program. Director understands that each child who naps needs to have their own cot. Facility will be using the office as an isolation area for sick children and the toilet and sink in the Toddler Room. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. Director stated that there are no weapons, such as firearms, stored on the premise. There are first aid kits, which has all the required items.
The outdoor space is fenced. LPAs discussed with the Director about supervision when children are going to Yard 1. Shaded rest area is provided through trees. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection. Areas around play structure and swings have resilient material. LPAs observed that tan bark around the swings and play structure is low and does not have enough to resilient material. LPA discussed with Director about cleaning the play structure prior to children starting.
All meals and snacks are prepared and brought from home. Drinking water inside is provided through individual water bottles, plastic water bottles, water filter pitcher, and water fountains. Drinking water outside is provided through individual water bottles, plastic water bottles, and water filter pitchers. LPA reminded Director that they have 180 days from licensure to complete lead testing.
