32 | Facility requested a higher capacity for both preschool and infant components than what was originally submitted on LIC200 Application for a Child Care Center License on 11/15/24 and approved by fire department. Applicants will be asked to submit an updated LIC200, LIC500 Personnel report and fire clearance.
LPAs observed all classrooms to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. A comfortable temperature for children shall be maintained at all times. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, shall be free of toxic substances. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age-appropriate. LPAs observed no fireplace or open face heaters. LPAs observed fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the facility. There are 244 chairs, 66 tables, 325 cubbies, 217 cots, 19 cribs, 8 changing tables, 24 feeding chairs, 25 toilets, 6 urinals and 36 sinks for preschool and infants. Applicants were advised that high chairs or other appropriate seating equipment shall be used to seat infants during feeding. Staff have separate bathroom that can be utilized by sick children if needed. Sick children will be isolated in the administrative office area of the facility. LPA observed that items that may pose a danger to children were stored in locked storage rooms inaccessible to children. LPAs observed containers with tight-fitting lids for the disposal of solid wastes. LPAs advised that Applicants maintain first-aid supplies in a location accessible to staff but inaccessible to children.
Facility has 5 infant classrooms. LPAs observed infant changing tables within arms reach to the sink. Applicants were advised that there shall be a minimum of one hand washing sink to every 15 infants and one potty chair to every five infants being toilet trained. Applicants stated that parents will provide food and milk bottles for infants. LPAs advised Applicants that as per Title 22 regulations, bottles and dishes provided by authorized representatives shall be rinsed and returned to authorized representatives for sanitizing at the end of each day.The facility provides an AM/PM snack that is pre-packaged. Lunch can be provided by parents or a hot lunch can be purchased, which is delivered to the site daily. LPAs advised Director as per Title 22, if food is prepared off the center premises, the following shall apply: (A)The preparation source shall meet all applicable requirements for commercial food services. (B)The center shall have the equipment and staff necessary to receive and serve the food and to clean up. (C)The center shall maintain the equipment necessary for in-house food preparation, or shall have an alternate source for food preparation and service in the event of an emergency. Commercial foods shall be approved by appropriate federal, state and local authorities. All foods shall be selected, transported, stored, prepared and served so as to be free from contamination and spoilage and shall be fit for human consumption. Applicants were advised that full-day programs shall ensure that each child has a lunch and children shall be free to drink as they wish. Drinking
