32 | The Applicant completed the Preventative Health and Safety Child Care Training in Winter 2024 which included Lead and Nutrition. Pediatric CPR/ First Aid training expires on 8/20/26. A copy of current TB test, flu, MMR, and Tdap vaccinations for the Applicant are on file. Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers expires on 8/21/2026. Future Mandated Reporter training for the Applicant, will not be required in the future, unless this training will be provided in the Applicant's first language.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor of the facility during today's inspection. The facility is a single story home. Inside the home, the children will have access to the kitchen, bathroom, front living room and the bedroom next to the living room. LPA observed a covered fireplace in the back living room. The children will use the first bedroom for isolation until parent pick up. The children will not have access to the back living room (except to exit to the backyard) and four bedrooms. There is fence securing the backyard. Children will have access to the backyard, except for the left side. The garage is off limits for children's use. The home is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety & comfort. LPA observed portable cribs, age appropriate toys and furniture. LPA observed smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detector and a Fire Extinguisher(2A10BC). No Bodies of water were observed.
The Applicant states that she does not smoke and understands that smoking is prohibited during day care hours. The Applicant states that she does not have any baby walkers/inclined sleepers in the home and understands that baby walkers/inclined sleepers are not allowed in the day care.
The Applicant stated that she will provided meal(s) to the children. The Applicant understands that any food/drink which is brought by parent(s) of day care child(ren) must be properly labeled with the child(ren) name and properly stored or refrigerated.
The Applicant states that there are no firearms in the home. The Applicant has a first aid kit in the home, which also has a thermometer and sufficient emergency supplies.
Forms of discipline used by Applicant: redirecting and talking. The Applicant understands that children's personal rights should not be violated, including no corporal punishment. Supervision of children, transportation of children, requirements for reporting suspected child abuse, unusual incidents/injuries, lead poisoning prevention, and requirements for assistant/substitute were also discussed with the Applicant.
LPA reviewed with Applicant Bobae Joo, the LIC 311D, Forms/Records to Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted..
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Applicant Bobae Joo and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPA also informed Applicant Bobae Joo of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
