25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kate Huang conducted an unannounced pre-licensing inspection today and met with the applicant, Ai, Bo. Currently, there is an active family child care home license at this address under the names Jingheng Cui and Wei Zhao (Facility No. 434414245). Their license will be closed once the applicant’s new license is approved. During today’s visit, there were 12 children present, including three infants and nine preschool-age children. Adults currently residing in the home include the applicant, applicant's spouse, Jingheng Cui, Wei Zhao, applicant's mother and applicant's mother in law. The hours of operation will be Monday through Sunday , from 06:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The Applicant completed the Preventative Health and Safety Child Care training on 05/06/2023. Pediatric CPR and First Aid training expires in 10/04/2027. Copies of TB test, flu, MMR, and Tdap vaccinations for the Applicant are on file. The Applicant stated that she plans to buy liability insurance. Applicant was reminded that parents need to sign the Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance for Family Child Care Home (LIC 282) until she obtains insurance coverage.
LPA toured the inside and outside of the home with Applicant. Applicant resides in a one story single family home. Off limit areas include one master bathroom and attached garage, and all other indoor areas are on limit area. LPA observed gas shut off, water shut off and electric shut off areas. Applicant has submitted the facility sketch with all the required information. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher (3A10BC). LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Applicant was reminded that Cleaning Products, toxic agents, medications, and sharp objects should be inaccessible to children. The applicant stated that there was a firearm at the facility. LPA observed that the firearm and ammunition were stored together in the same storage box. LPA instructed the applicant to store and lock them in two separate, secure storage boxes. The applicant immediately corrected the issue. During the visit, the firearm and ammunition were observed to be stored and locked separately.
Applicant has play area for the children in the part of the backyard of the home and LPA observed barricaded gate around the play area. The home is clean, orderly, including heating and air conditioning, for safety & comfort. There is sufficient toys, supplies, and equipment for the day care children indoor and outdoor areas. All toys are age appropriate. LPA reminded Applicant that smoking, baby walkers, Jumpers, bouncers and similar items are not allowed in Family Child Care Homes.
