32 | LPA toured the outdoor play area. All play equipment was observed to be operable and age-appropriate during this inspection. Areas around swings, slides, and high climbing equipment have cushioning material to absorb falls. Uncontaminated drinking water is available to children in the outdoor area. There are no pools, hot tubs, ponds, or any other bodies of water accessible to children during today's inspection.
Facility is currently utilizing an electronic sign in/out software. LPA reviewed the children signed in/signed out for each classroom. LPA observed a total of 20 signatures out of 20 children present in the facility during today's inspection.
The facility has a fully charged fire extinguisher and working telephone. Carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are functional at this time. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months, and the log indicates the last fire drill was documented on 8/19/2021. At least one staff member has current CPR/1st Aid certificate and all staff have Mandated Reporter Training certificates. The facility is in ratio today, with one teacher supervising no more than 12 children. 10 children's files and 4 staff files were reviewed for proper documentation. All required forms are posted in public view, including menus. Facility roster was obtained. Fully stocked first aid kids are present in each facility classroom at this time.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services - IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children's, personnel, and administrative records. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
