LPAs observed all classrooms to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. LPA’s observed napping room which is separated from the infant activity area. LPA observed 12 cribs during the inspection (06 in each infant’s room) . LPA’s reminded Director to ensure sheets are tightly fitted and no objects should be inside or hanging outside of the crib. LPA’s observed changing tables are within arm’s reach of sink area. Infant and Toddler Classrooms have a separate staff space that includes sink, refrigerator, food, bottle and preparation area, storage, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Preschool Classrooms have a separate staff space that includes sink, refrigerator, food and preparation area, storage and dishwasher. There is a laundry room is located on the 2nd floor with 03 washers and 03 dryers. (One assigned to each Preschool Classroom.)
A comfortable temperature for children shall be maintained at all times. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, shall be free of toxic substances. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age appropriate. LPAs observed no fireplace or open face heaters. LPAs observed fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the facility. There are 132 chairs, 34 tables, 112 cubbies, 12 cots, 12 toilets, 4 changing tables and 18 sinks for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Staff have separate restrooms that can be utilized by sick children if needed. There is an isolation area with a divided partition on each level for sick children close to restroom and teacher’s room. LPA’s observed that items that may pose a danger to children were stored in locked storage rooms inaccessible to children. LPAs observed containers with tight-fitting lids for the disposal of solid waste. LPAs advised that Applicant maintains first-aid supplies in a location accessible to staff but inaccessible to children.
The Applicant shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents. Lunch and snacks are provided by parents. Facility does have an alternate source for food preparation and service in the event of an emergency. Drinking water is readily available for children via filtered water sources and children’s own water bottles. Children’s can also bring their own water bottles outdoors.
